Carla Marie Young June 18, 1965 - Sept. 27, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Ms. Carla Marie Young, 49, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Carla was born on June 18, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, to Perry Hunter and Ernestine Young-Cheeks.
She graduated from Clay High School and was employed by Learning Twig Day Care for several years. Carla was a loving and giving person and also a member of Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Carmisha Michelle Williams and Car`myia Miracle Michelle Cotton; one son, Nelson Cotton Jr.; one granddaughter, Car`ess Marie Phillips; her father, Perry Hunter; two sisters, Jill Lynn Young, (her twin sister) and Paula Marie Young; one brother, Charles Lamont Cheeks, all of South Bend, Indiana; four nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces, four great-nephews; and four special friends, Constance Turner, Sherri Huffer-Bush, Anelia Halbert Easton and Nelson Cotton Sr.; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Carla in death were her mother, Ernestine Young-Cheeks; maternal grandparents, Milton and Vernell Lax; paternal grandmother, Clara Washington; one uncle, Robert Young; two aunts, Rose Benita James and Laurie Michelle Williams; and one nephew, Kenneth Edward Riles Jr.
Funeral services for Ms. Carla Marie Young will be held at 1 pm Friday with visitation from noon Friday at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ.
