James Seymour Crowel

GRANGER - Former Granger resident James Seymour Crowel, 85, of Mishawaka, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, following a brief illness.
Mr. Crowel was born October 23, 1924, in Granger, to the late Joseph and Merrie (Ellis) Crowel, and was a lifetime area resident.
On January 26, 1946, in South Bend, he married Betty J. Hill, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years. She survives along with three daughters, Jimmielou Guzman of Ajo, AZ, Susan Tiller (Gary) of Ponte Vedre Beach, FL, and Gail Campanaro (Brant) of Edwardsburg, MI; four grandchildren, Lindsay Tiller, Whitney Phillips (Adam), Abigail Campanaro and Brant James Campanaro; one great-grandchild, Haley Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews.
James S. retired from Sunnyside Beverages after 35 years as a sales manager. He was also employed by The Studebaker Corp., Lumber Specialties and Coussens Dairy.
James loved life, his family and good friends. James also enjoyed celebrations, dancing to big band sounds and gardening. He especially enjoyed the Cubs and Notre Dame games. He was a faithful member of Hope United Methodist Church, Edwardsburg, MI.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 3rd, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Jeff Reese of Hope United Methodist Church, Edwardsburg, officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. today, September 2nd, in the funeral home.
