Beth A. Houck, 83, of Waymart, died Friday morning in Wayne Woodlands Manor.
She was the wife of Robert V. Houck, who died in 2002. They were married Nov. 12, 1944.
Born in South Bend, Ind. on Aug. 22, 1924, daughter of the late Guy and Ella Stiffner Smith, she was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister and enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She was a former member of the Waymart Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis and wife, Sue, Lake Ariel; James, Buchanan, Mich.; and Jack, Waymart; a daughter, Karen "Susie" Houck DeMar-co, Waymart; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Smith; and a sister, Jane Ford.
Following cremation, the family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Jenkins Funeral Home, 269 Belmont St., Waymart. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
