Daniel Joseph VanMele, 53, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1970 in South Bend, Indiana to John and Janice (Cooper) VanMele both whom survive.
Daniel graduated from Clay High School in 1988.
Daniel is also survived by one sister, Andrea Howard (Glenn) of Elkhart, Indiana, one brother, Jeffrey VanMele of Granger, Indiana, a niece, Mackenzie Miller of Morgantown West Virginia and a nephew, Jase Braden of Edwardsburg Michigan. He also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend Debbie Dubois.
Daniel (Dan) spent years as a professional painter. Most recently he worked as an Industrial Machinery Mechanic. His latest career was well served by his ability to take apart and put back together almost anything. He enjoyed Notre Dame football, professional auto racing and riding his Harley. Dan loved dogs and was very proud of his cars, especially his Corvette.
No formal services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring of 2024. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge in Daniels’s honor. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com
