Robert Eugene Larrison

Robert Eugene Larrison

June 20, 1938 ~ February 19, 2025

Robert Eugene Larrison, Bob, 86, surrounded by the spirit of love from family and friends, near and far, passed away on February 19, 2025 at Raclin House Hospice Care.

Born on June 20, 1938, in Mounds, Illinois to his parents Mary (Mize) and Lester Larrison.  His parents are deceased.  Bob is survived by his sister Betty Larrison Howard of Azle, TX and his brother James Larrison (Jacqueline) of Azle, TX.  His older brother Richard Larrison is deceased as is his brother-in-law Bill Howard.  He is survived by his children Kimberly Yanok (Phil, deceased) of New Carlisle, IN.  Roberta Thompson (Michael) of Charleston, SC. And Brian Larrison of South Bend, IN. Also, his grandchildren, Amy and Brad Yanok.

Bob grew up in South Bend and graduated with the Washington Clay class of 1956.  He worked at Studebaker in his early adult years and later at Ries Furniture Company where he retired after many years of truck driving, furniture delivery and fine woodworking.

In June of 2001 he married Debra Barlow.  Bob and Debby spent many fun years together enjoying the outdoors by camping, boating and fishing, exploring the woods and trails in Michigan and by simply taking care of their home, garden and yard and trying new recipes.  Bob was always up for a potluck supper, buffet or barbeque! “Fit for eat’in.”

Bob was very proud of his Native American ancestry, and it showed in his spirit of being in his element in the outdoor world.  Archery, hunting, fishing, camping, and maintaining his home and property were his priorities and enjoyment.

Well known for his big smile, his storytelling and for talking with his hands, Bob will be missed by all of his family, friends and neighbors.  He is at peace after being released from the pain of complications from surgery and dementia.

Cremation is taking place and there will be no services per Bob’s wishes. Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.  Please remember Bob with a smile and he will “catch you down the road.”
