SOUTH BEND Services for Francis N. Barrett, 74, of Oakdale Avenue, who died about 12 21 a.m Sunday at St Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Diabetes Association, 711 E. Colfax Ave. South Bend, Ind, 46617.
Mr. Barrett was a former employee of the Studebaker Corp. and retired in 1980 from General Corp. in the inspection department after 10 years of service.
He was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Big Rapids, Mich., and lived in South Bend since 1924.
On Nov. 16, 1946, in South Bend, he married Betty Jane Tovey. She died Jan. 20, 1975.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Harris of South Bend and Mary Kathleen Schlect of Mandville, La. ; son, Francis N. of South Bend; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Rosemary Dunn of Pico Riveria, Calif., Helen Lamirand of Cottonwood, Ariz., Barbara Bergin South Bend and Marguerite McDole of Plano, Texas.
He was a veteran of World War II and member of American Legion Bendix Post 284, and formerly attended Christ the King Catholic Church
