SOUTH BEND - James C. Couch, 77, of Chino Valley, Ariz., formerly of South Bend, died Monday in his home after an illness.

Mr. Couch retired in 1990 from Seven Seas. Service Center in Arizona. He was born Dec. 21, 1915, South Bend, and moved to Arizona in 1972.

He is survived by a son, Jim of Chino Valley; three grandchildren; two sisters, Margarita Humphrey and Cecilia Bauters, both of South Bend; and four brothers, Victor of South Bend, and Frederick, Leo and Howard, all of South Bend.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Catherine LaBoure Catholic Church, Chino Valley. Burial will be Chino Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the church, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Prescott, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
