June Belle (Bloomer) Harmon

June Belle Harmon died peacefully on , Feb. 5 at her home of 30 years in Sanford. June was born on Feb. 8, 1920 in Cassopolis to the late Harvey Bloomer and his wife, Velda Bloomer, nee Shank.
June was raised in South Bend, Ind., spending summers with maternal grandparents in Penn. She graduated from the Washington-Clay School in South Bend, where her studies included business classes and theatrical productions. She worked as a nurse's aide during the early years of World War II, followed by several administrative office positions.
It was at one of those jobs in Coldwater that she met Harold "Doc" Harmon, whom she married. Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Gaylord, where they raised their family and developed and enjoyed their lake property.
While living in Gaylord, June spent several years working as an administrative assistant in the Gaylord Public Schools. June and Doc relocated to Sanford in 1982, where they were active in the Midland County Sport Fishing Association and St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Surviving is her son and daughter and their spouses, Richard "Dick" and Bonnie Harmon and Deborah Buschman and her husband, Dr. James ; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Kenneth Harmon ; and one step-sister, Geri Dawson .
In addition to her parents and husband, June was predeceased by her step-father, Clarence A. Dawson; her brother-in-law, H.B. Harmon; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Harmon.
Burial in the St. Agnes Cemetery in Sanford.
