Gloria Ruth (Sossomen) Cartwright

Gloria Ruth Cartwright, 60, of Rt. 1. Decatur, Mich., formerly of South Bend, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness. She was retired in 1974 from the Garven Bros. Co.

Born on July 3, 1920. in Winona, Minn., she had lived in South Bend for 53 years.

On July 1, 1939, in Rochester, Ind., she married Leo Ray Cartwright, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Engle of Oklahoma City, Okla.: a son, Kevin of South Bend: and a brother, Arthur Sossomen of South Bend.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Welsheimer North Chapel, 52803 U.S. 33 N. Maj. Charles R. Duskin of the Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 569 and the Avalon Grotto Auxiliary.
