Ruth Boggs

Coroner Donald Grillo Indicated today that a verdict of accidental death probably will be returned in the a death Wednesday night of Ruth Elizabeth Boggs, 19-year-old art student, who lived on Brick road, north of Roseland. The driver of the car which struck the girl as she walked on U.S. highway No. 31 was questioned Thursday by Dr. Grillo, as well as Fern Nussel, Terre Haute, her companion who escaped injury. 

Neither could give a clear account of how the mishap occurred, the coroner said. He pointed out that the girls were walking south on the west side of the highway. A light rain impaired the driver's vision, he said. Dr. Grillo said he would hold the investigation open until the end of this week.

The girls were walking to St. Mary's college where both resided. Miss Boggs was employed in the dining room and was a student in an art class.

Funeral services for Miss Boggs will take place at 2 p. m. Saturday Rev. Booth, D. D., pastor Sunnyside, Presbyterian church. of Clay township Community church in Roseland, will read the service and interment will be in Highland cemetery. The body will lie in the Earl C. Hollis chapel until noon Saturday and in the church from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday.
