SOUTH BEND — Dorothy Hope-Baker, 94, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 after a long illness.

Dorothy was born in South Bend, IN, to Ted and Ida Hagenbuch. She married Chester O. Hope on October 30, 1938; he preceded her in death June 7, 1984. She later married Erwin Baker on August 24, 1985; he preceded her in death July 6, 1993. Dorothy had two brothers, Clarence Hagenbuch and Charles Hagen, both of whom preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Ted Hope (Carol) & Lee Hope (Judy); four grandchildren, Tiffany Albright, Julie Pawlak, Scott Hope & Eric Brodzinski; & six great-grandchildren, Kaileanna Albright, Chancellor Albright, Avery Pawlak, Preston Pawlak, Griffin Hope and Henry Hope.

Dorothy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star-New Carlisle, First Methodist Church-South Bend, and Cathedral of St. James Episcopal Church-South Bend.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 5th, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m., in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E. Colfax, South Bend, IN 46617, American Heart Association of Northern IN, 6100 W. 96th St., Indianapolis, IN 46278 or St.Margret’s House, 117 N. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, IN 46601.
