Delbert Woodrow Nelson

Delbert "Del" Nelson, 82, of Holiday, Fla., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Wednesday, May 10, in his home. Mr. Nelson lived in South Bend until moving to Florida in 1994.
On Sept. 22, 1937, he married Ruth G. Cartwright, who preceded him in death in 1995. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Robert) Skinner; three sons, Tommy, Donald (Deborah), and John, all of South Bend; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; a sister, Loretta Potter of Rigby, Idaho; two brothers, Richard (Gerry) of Lorida, Fla., and Charles (Jane) of Niles, Mich.; and by a dear friend and companion, Verna Froemming of Holiday, Fla.
Mr. Nelson was employed by the Studebaker Corporation for 27 years and retired from Moding Manufacturing, LaPorte, Ind. He was a member of the Moose.
There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place at American Burial and Cremation, Palm Harbor, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Pasco, Inc., 3529 Universal Plaza, New Port Richey, FL 34652; or to Faith Lutheran Church, 5443 Sunset Road, New Port Richey, FL 34652, where he was a member.
