PITTSBORO - Robert K. Wertz, 82, of Pittsboro, died Tuesday (9/25/01) at Laurels of Chatham. Formerly of Sanford, he was a former supervisor with the W. Koury Co.

He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Med. Adm. Co., (AUS) during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita A. Wertz, and a son,  Robert Orville Wertz.

Graveside service will be held at. 11 a.m. Thursday at Buffalo Cemetery by the Rev. Garland E. Smith  Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
