Orville C. Hartman

Orville C. Hartman, aged 30, of rural route No. 1, Granger, this county, died at 3:30 a. m. today in St. Joseph hospital. He had been ill since May 5. He was co-owner of the Hartman Coal & Heating company, 1121 South Main street.

Mr. Hartman was born Dec. 9, 1917.

He was married June 22, 1940 in South Bend to the former Virginia M. Rawlings, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Louanna Mae, at home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hartman, South Bend, a brother, F. W. Hartman, South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Iva G.Dale, Muscatine, la.

Friends may call this evening and after 3:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Welsheimer funeral home because the First Christian church, of which Mr. Hartman was a member, is being redecorated, the funeral will be held in the First Methodist church Thursday at 2 p.m. The body will be taken to the church at noon on Thursday, to lie in state until the hour of the funeral. Rev. Frank E. Davison, pastor of the First Christian church, will officiate.

Burial will Highland cemetery. Mr. Hartman was a member of South Bend lodge No. 294, F. &A.M., Robert Blum lodge No. 277, I. 0. O. F., and was a veteran of world war II, having served with the navy.
