Leon Dewitte Obituary

DEWITTE, Leon R., age 87, of Sebring died January 15, 2004 at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Sebring. He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana moving to Sebring in 1982 from Ft. Myers, Florida. Graduate of Purdue University, Class of '41, played football for 3 years, named all American in 1939 and big ten most valuable player. Following Purdue University he played pro football for Detroit Lions. A member of Indiana Football Hall of Fame, he was a long time football coach at Clay High School and Washington - Clay High Schools in South Bend, Indiana. Service and burial will be in Mishawaka, Indiana. Morris Funeral Chapel, Sebring.
