James Williams Jr.
April 17, 1949 - April 20, 2009
SOUTH BEND - James Williams Jr., 60, a resident of Leer Street, South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal rest at 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009, in his residence following an illness. On April 17, 1949, in South Bend, he was born to the union of James and Willie Mae (Ferrell) Williams Sr.
As a lifelong area resident, James was educated in the South Bend School Corporation, graduating from Clay High School in 1967.
James was employed by Allied Stamping Division as a press operator. Among his hobbies were pool and darts, and he had won trophies for both sports.
Mr. Williams has left a loving family to mourn his loss that includes two daughters, Alexis Williams and Annette (Kenneth) Taylor, both of South Bend; five sons, Damon Williams of Decatur, IL, Anthony Lawrence, James Williams III, Jamier Williams and Jermaine Williams, all of South Bend; seven grandchildren, DaVontae Williams, Devon Jefferies, Damon Williams Jr., Arias Williams, Tiffani Williams, D'Andre Williams and Jamison Lawrence; four sisters, Deborah (L.T.) Hunt, Linda (Larry) Gordon, Dottie Williams and Sharon Johnson, all of South Bend; two brothers, Dennis (Gayle) Williams of Chicago, IL, and Ronnie (Robin) Williams of South Bend; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in Greater St. Matthew's Church, with burial following at Riverview Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
