Ronny Stuart McMenemy - Class Of 1976 VIEW PROFILE

Ronny Stuart McMenemy

Ronny "Ron" Stuart Mcmenemy, loving father, husband, Papaw, brother, son, uncle, and simply "Dad" to many passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022—10 days before his 64th birthday.

Ron was born on May 12, 1958 to parents Alex and Mary McMenemy on an U.S. Army Base while his dad was stationed in Germany. After moving around the country with his parents and 5 siblings, the family settled in South Bend, Indiana—home of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football. He graduated from Clay High School, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Judith "Judy" Ann McMenemy.

After graduating high school, Ron attended college at the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. Although Ron was almost 2,000 miles from Judy, the distance never stopped him from calling her "collect" with fake names to save money and from driving two days straight so he can spend a day or two with her before having to drive back for class.

On July 11, 1981, Ron married his one true love in South Bend, Indiana. Shortly thereafter, Ron & Judy planted their roots in Las Vegas, Nevada and had three children—Dustin, Ian, and Chelsey. Hard-work was something Ron never shied away from while he often worked 2-3 jobs to provide for his family. Even though he worked tirelessly, he always made it a point to spend time with his kids and beautiful wife. In his free time, Ron would also give back to various charities, such as being the Chairman of the Board for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission; hiking; watching movies; getting into mischief (aka ice cream), racing cars or skinny dipping in his backyard pool for a late-night swim.

Ron started his career in Commercial Real Estate when Judy cut-out a job posting from The Ribeiro Corp. in the local paper for a leasing agent. As the saying goes, the rest is history. His over 30-year career spanned from The Ribeiro Corp. to The Commercial Group to Jerry Roth & Associates to becoming General Manager of the Americana Commercial Group in 1998. In 2001, Ron purchased the company and teamed up with John Schottenstein to form NAI Horizon in Las Vegas and Phoenix. Ron was known as a dealmaker and for thinking outside the box. He was known to walk into the office with a deal's material terms written and signed on napkins or two-by-four pieces of lumber.

He often described his business style as tough but fair. He would be the first to tell you he was no bullsh*t without a filter. He would often say, "Do what's right, even if it's not in your favor, because everything goes around and has a way of working out." He was one for long stories and a sharp memory when it came to recalling past negotiations and deals. Ron's spirit and charisma was infectious to anyone who knew him and many considered him a dear friend and brother.

Last year Ron was heartbroken when he buried his wife on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary—July 11, 2021. It's only fitting that the dates in which Ron and Judy passed away (05/02 and 07/4) would also add up to be the date of their wedding anniversary (07/11). From the dates of their death to Ron's perfect health deteriorating so quickly after the passing of his wife, there is no question Ron showed he could not live without Judy. They will be buried next to each other and are reunited in Heaven as true "soul-mates."

Ron is survived by his children—Dustin, Ian, and Chelsey, mom—Mary, siblings—Alex, Kevin, Craig, and Marion, and grandchildren—Vienna, Kayden, LilliAnn, Kingsley, MaryLou, and MadiLyn, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends whom he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to "Las Vegas Rescue Mission."

WE LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD.
