Susan L. McGalliard

January 23, 1949 ~ February 3, 2025 76 Years Old

Susan was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the parents of Paul James McGalliard and Ruby Cannon.  She was raised by her father and stepmother whom she loved deeply.  All three are now Deceased.

After graduating from Clay High School, she married Samuel Littles and had three children: Pamela, Christopher and Michael.  When that marriage failed, she met and married Michael Settles.  There were no children conceived in that 33-year marriage, but she helped raise 5 stepchildren: Megdela, Michael Jr., Stacy, Arnold Settles and Count Neal.  When Michael passed away in 2007, she met Ralph B. Jones with whom she got engaged.  She was baptized on August 28, 2011, and joined ICU ministries under the leadership of Pastor Sylvester Williams Jr. She has a sister and 2 brothers she never met and a brother, the Rev. Ray McGalliard and his wife Janice of South Carolina.  15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.  Her God mother, Betty Pruitt Williams (deceased).

Her favorite hobbies were bingo, maintaining her home and cooking.  Most of all, taking care of and loving her dogs DeeDee and Pepe.

In keeping with family wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 15, 11:00 am, at ICU Ministries/WUBS 89-7 FM, 702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46616. Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
