Lamont Andrew Pellow Sr.
March 12, 1949 - November 21, 2024
Lamont A. Pellow Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Born on March 12, 1949, in South Bend, Indiana, Lamont grew up surrounded by his large family and love for motorcycles, camping, hunting, and fishing. Dedicated to serving his community, Lamont and his wife owned and operated school buses for many years; he also worked inside the school with special needs children. His kindness and devotion are remembered by countless teachers, students, and families throughout the area.
Lamont married the love of his life, Jane Rae Davidson, in 1968. Together they built an unbreakable partnership and enjoyed traveling to new places together. Over their 56 years of marriage, they welcomed and deeply loved three children, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Lamont will be remembered for his generosity, dedication to his family, and always lending a hand to help his friends. Whether it was taking his loved ones on trips, teaching them how to bait a hook, or bag a deer, he always brought his family together in meaningful ways.
Lamont is survived by his wife Jane; his children William, Angela, Lamont Jr. and his wife Amy; his grandchildren Ariana, Frances, Alasandra, Alyssa, Andrew, and Skylar; and his great-grandchildren Clara, Connor, Oliver, Greyson, Delainey, and Dakota; his siblings Jim, Walt, Gary, and LouAnn. Lamont was overjoyed at the thought of two additional great-grandchildren arriving in 2025.
A viewing to celebrate Lamont’s life will be held on Tuesday the 26th from 4-8 PM at Kaniewski Funeral Home on Bendix Drive in South Bend.
Lamont’s legacy of family, love, and generosity will live on forever in the hearts of those he knew and loved. Please continue to remember all your fond memories of him and remember him with love.
