Judith G. Welsh-Stone

Judith G. Welsh-Stone, 53, residing on East 9th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.
20, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. She was employed with Steamatic of Michiana for 10 years, and for the past three years worked at Bryan's Piano Bar, South Bend. Judy was born on April 22, 1949, in South Bend, to Jack and Joyce (Wertenberger) Welsh, and had lived in this area all of her life. She was preceded in death by her father in 1998.
On Dec. 31, 1988, in Mishawaka, she married Harry Stone, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Joseph A. Strange at home and Patrick D. Stone of Mishawaka; her mother, Joyce Welsh of South Bend; three sisters, Jeanne Welsh of Granger, Ind., Jackie Nuner of South Bend and Janet Auker of Rock Island, Ill.
Judy was a member of Northway Church of Christ, South Bend, was a Clay High School graduate where she sang in the original swing choir, and she served as a volunteer with Special Olympics for a few years.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 643, Mishawaka, IN 46546; or to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
