Virginia Sue Humphrey

Feb. 3, 1942 - Feb. 27, 2008

Virginia "Ginny" S. Humphrey, 66, of South Twin Lake, Howe, IN died Wednesday February 27, 2008 at Life Care Center of LaGrange in LaGrange, IN.

In 1972, Mrs. Humphrey moved to Howe from South Bend where she graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1960. Ginny worked at Benton's Clothing in South Bend, Mulit-Plex in Howe, Owens Classic and Continental Accessories both in Sturgis, MI. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange, was an avid card player, and planned some of the best parties on South Twin Lake. She will be remembered as a gracious lady -- very generous, volunteering for everything.

Ginny was born on February 3, 1942 in South Bend to John and Vera (Lewis) Dyczko; they both precede her in death. On May 9, 1964 she married John A. "Jack" Humphrey; he survives in Howe.

Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law Amy and James O'Brien of Granger, IN and Sarah and Andy Banning of Noblesville, IN, five grandchildren James, Joshua, Margaret, and Elizabeth O'Brien and Zachary Banning, and two brothers and sisters-in-law Charles and Beverly Dyczko of South Bend and Greg and Ann Dyczko of Niles, MI. She was also preceded in death by a brother John Dyczko.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday March 3, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange with Father Mark Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 2, 2008 from 2-5 PM at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.

In memory of Mrs. Humphrey masses may be made to the church.
