Cindy M. Allen Ponsler
South Bend - Cindy M. Ponsler (Allen), 61, of South Bend, IN passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
Cindy was born in Port Huron, MI on October 17, 1959, to the late Francis and Shirley (Shipley) Allen. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, George David Ponsler of South Bend, IN.
Cindy graduated from Clay High School in 1978 and was a stay-at-home wife, mother, and grandmother. She can only be defined as the heart of the family with her greatest accomplishment being the life she built for her kids and husband. She had impeccable taste in home décor and spent many hours designing, maintaining, and enjoying her backyard and gardens.
She loved her dog, Georgie, who was her constant companion for fourteen years before passing away in 2014; and later found comfort and companionship in her granddogs throughout the time of her illness.
Cindy was most proud of being a Mom and Nana, spending afternoons showering her grandchildren in her unconditional love and kindness. Leaving to cherish her loving memory is son Casey (Nicole) Katlun, daughters Holly Katlun, Ashley Katlun, and Alexis Ponsler, granddaughter Isabella Katlun, and grandson Aiden Katlun all of South Bend, IN.
Cindy is also survived by her brother, Greg (Rebecca) Allen of Niles, MI; two sisters, Kristy (Jeff) Liechty of South Bend, IN; and Jackie (John) Wade of Elkhart, IN.
A private family funeral service will be held at Kaniewski Funeral Home with burial to follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
