Edwin L. McCain Sept. 11, 1941 - Sept. 26, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Edwin L. McCain, 73, of Mishawaka, passed away during the early morning hours of Friday, September 26th, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Edwin was born in Delphi, Indiana, on September 11, 1941, to the late Frank and Bertha (Boyer) McCain.

He graduated from Clay High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy.

On December 17, 1962, he married Linda Cherry in Michigan.

He was a truck driver, and retired from the Steel Warehouse where he worked for 10 years. He and his wife Linda traveled many times across the United States, seeing most of the lower 48 states. He belonged to the local 364. He was a life member of the VFW. He was a 'Grease Monkey' and enjoyed fixing things.

Edwin is survived by his loving wife, Linda McCain of Mishawaka, and his 3 sons, Jeffery Vaughn of New Hampshire, Frank (Patty) McCain of South Bend and Jamie (Cherie) McCain of Mishawaka. He was the grandfather of five, Nicholas McCain, Patrick Vaughn, Patricia Vaughn, Crystal Vaughn and Tryston Weaver; he was also a great-grandfather of six. Edwin is also survived by his brothers, Kenny McCain of Mishawaka, Roy (Jeanne) McCain of Osceola and Russell (Fran) McCain of South Bend; along with in-laws, Paul (Doris) Dover Jr. of Mishawaka, Charles (Pat) Cherry of Bremen, AD (Mary Kay) Young of Florence, Alabama, and James Cherry of Mishawaka.

He was preceded in death by mother- and father-in-law, Sie and AB (Hall) Cherry.

As per Edwin's wishes, there will be no visitation or services; cremation is to take place. Bubb Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
