Charles Michael "Joe" Bognar, 74, of Jonesville, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He was born March 11, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph and Genevieve (Harding) Bognar. Joe married Audrey Cabanaw on June 15, 1964 and she survives.

Joe graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1961 and he served his country in the United States Navy Seabees from 1962-1967. He retired from Clark Equipment in Jackson. Joe was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony Men's Club, and Moscow Fire Department. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, camping, and working on projects in his barn.

In addition to his wife, Audrey, Joe is survived by his children Bill (Pamela) Bognar of Osseo, Tony (Donna) Bognar of Jonesville, and Angela (Eric) Little of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Genevieve, Amanda and Ethan; eight great-grandchildren and four sisters, Mary Lou Harner of Moscow, Maxine Bly of South Bend, Jo Ann (Paul) Kimmel of South Bend, and Eloise (Dean) Truitt of North Adams.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry Bognar.

Memorial services for Joe Bognar will be Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Family interment will take place at Rice Cemetery in Moscow Township at a later date.
