Jeffrey Royal Jenks

Jeffrey Royal Jenks, 58, of South Bend passed away at Memorial Hospital on December 14, 2022. Jeff was born March 19, 1964, in South Bend, IN to Larry Jenks and Joann (Miller) Schmitt.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Julie Jenks of South Bend and his mother, Joann Schmitt of South Bend and his lifelong friend Nicholas Kacarab. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Jenks, and his brother Gregory Jenks.

After graduating from Clay High School in 1982, Jeff earned his Associates degree and Ivy Tech certificates in plastic injection molding process.

Jeff loved hunting, fishing, camping and anything related to the outdoors. For those who knew Jeff, he took pride in keeping his home, lawn, and vehicles impeccably clean and in order. Jeff was a long time Cubs fan and was a great 3rd baseman in his younger days. He loved bowling, dart leagues and the comradery of being around friends.

Jeff will be missed very much by his family and friends. For those who knew him, he was a loyal friend and would help any way he could. Jeff was a very gentle kind soul and treated all the people around him with kindness. He was the best big brother a sister could ever have.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that everyone who knew and loved Jeff, treat each other with patience and compassion.

Cremation has taken place and the burial will be at a later date. Southlawn Cremation Services and Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
