MISHAWAKA - Rose M. Grenert, 80, of Mishawaka, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 surrounded by her family. The South Bend native was born on April 19, 1937 to the union of Charles and Lovina (Phillips) Singleton. She graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1954 and on January 6, 1957, married James N. Grenert. He preceded her in death in October of 2000. She worked as a seamstress for Rayco, was a Nurse's Aide, cleaned homes, and enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker. Rose loved to sew, knit, and crochet - never needing a pattern to create her projects. Rose is survived by her children, Rebecca Sue (Skip) Yoder, Michael James Grenert, James Michael Grenert, Robert L. (Peggy) Grenert all of Mishawaka, Debra (David) Skalla, Jennifer (Dennis) Poirer, both of Edwardsburg, and Sally A. Conrad of Niles; 20 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Dorothy Grenert, Delores Helfman, Clara Riggs, Walter Singleton, Bill Singleton, Jack Singleton, and Ron Singleton; and grand-dog, “Lucy”. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; granddaughters, Heather and Leslie; great-grandson, Benny; and her siblings, Ruby, Shirley, Alice, Kenneth, Lester, Charles, and Edward. Friends and family will be received on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 3-7 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. A Funeral Service in Rose's honor will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10 AM at the funeral home, with calling one hour prior to the service.
