Charles Adams

Charles "Nassau" Adams Jr.

January 19, 1965 ~ January 3, 2024 (age 58)

Charles Nassau Adams Jr., known affectionately to all as Nassau, was a beacon of light and love, whose life was a symphony of joy, creativity, and boundless generosity. Born on January 19, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, Nassau's journey on this earth was a testament to the power of living with an open heart. Tragically, his vibrant life was cut short on January 3, 2024, due to an automobile accident in LaPorte County, Indiana, just shy of his 59th birthday. Yet, the legacy he leaves behind is as enduring as the countless lives he touched.

Nassau's early years in South Bend were filled with the warmth of a loving family, including his parents, Charles Adams Sr. and Claudine Adams, and his siblings, Tiffany Adams, Dominique Adams, Terrel Camnac, Tyricka Camnac, Terry Camnac, Gloria Adams Jennings, Tina Logan, and Dellondo Fox. His family was his foundation, and he extended that same familial love to his nieces and nephews, whom he cherished as if they were his own children.

As a music promoter, Nassau found his calling in the rhythmic pulse of the industry, orchestrating experiences that brought people together in celebration of life and sound. He lived in Seattle, Washington, but his influence reverberated through cities like Kalamazoo, MI., Fort Wayne, IN., Macon, GA., and back to his roots in South Bend. His career took off with a show that still echoes in the hearts of those who were there—a night with The Whispers in 2011 that set the stage for a decade of unforgettable performances.

Nassau was a man who danced to the beat of his own drum, earning him the nickname "The Funky One."  His passion for life was infectious, and he made it his mission to ensure that everyone around him was not just happy, but ecstatic. He was the architect of joy, planning events and gatherings with the meticulous care of a maestro, all to see the smiles on the faces of friends and strangers alike.

His creativity knew no bounds, and his loving nature was a gift he freely gave. Nassau was the embodiment of selflessness, always putting others before himself, and his spirit of generosity was as natural to him as breathing. He was a man who not only walked in love but who also led with it, guiding others to find the same joy in life that he did.

As we reflect on Nassau's life, we are reminded that every moment is a chance to make a difference, to spread happiness, and to care for one another. His life was a masterclass in compassion, a reminder that we are all connected by the threads of humanity and that we have the power to create a tapestry of love that spans generations.

Nassau's departure from this world is not an end, but a transformation—a shift from a physical presence to an eternal influence. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire, to motivate, and to encourage us all to live with the same fervor and heart that he did.

Let us honor Nassau's memory by embracing life with the same zest and love that he did. Let us carry forward his legacy of creativity, love, and selflessness, and let us do so with the knowledge that his spirit will forever be a guiding light on our path.

In the words of Nassau himself, "Life is a party, and everyone's invited." So let us celebrate his life, not with sorrow, but with the joy and love that he would want for each of us. Let us dance, let us sing, and let us love, for Nassau's spirit lives on in every beat of our hearts and in every act of kindness we share.

A memorial service for Nassau will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend.
Friends may gather to share stories beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Nassau was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Snohomish, WA.
