Charlotte Ann Claxton, 74, of Edgewood Walk, South Bend, died at 9:17 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005, in the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.

She was born on November 29, 1930, in South Bend, to William H. and Emma Nadine (Keesy) Claxton. Her father preceded her in death on March 24, 1981, and her mother preceded her in death on April 6, 2000.

During Charlotte's professional life she was an executive secretary, and at the end of her career retired from First Source Bank in South Bend. Her artistic endeavors which influenced her happy disposition were playing the piano, doing needle-craft and painting. Charlotte was a member of the former Maple Lane United Methodist Church, South Bend.

She is survived by her two brothers, William Benjamin Claxton of South Bend and George Phillip (Carletta) Claxton of Cincinnati, OH. Also surviving are her aunt, Mary Ellen, and uncle, Cecil Zeiger of South Bend, and several cousins.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005, in the funeral home. Rev. Mark Foreman, pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Granger, IN, will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
