Marsha Faye Blume (Witters)

Marsha Faye (Blume) Witters

January 20, 1946 ~ April 24, 2025

Marsha F. (Blume) Witters, 79, of Granger passed away on Thursday April 24, 2025, at her home, from a valiant and long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

Marsha was born in Linton, Indiana on January 20, 1946, to the late Alvin and Betty (Mears) Blume.  She is survived by her husband, Barry, her daughter; Melissa (Scott) Haddix, sons; Daniel (Lisa) Witters and Damon (Alison) Witters, her grandchildren; Lindsay Makowski, Lauren Makowski, Jessica Hanson, Meghan Haddix, Emily Christ, Alayna Witters, Adrianna Witters and Olivia Witters.  Also surviving are her brothers; Michael (Barbara) Blume and Mark (Debra) Blume.

On June 4, 1966, in South Bend, she married Barry Witters, spending nearly 59 wonderful years together.

Marsha graduated from Clay High School and worked for several companies, owned and operated her own small business, and retired from Martins Supermarkets after many years of service.

Marsha was first and foremost a loving wife, a wonderful mother and cherished her grandchildren and friends.  She would light up in the presence of babies and puppies.  She loved cruise ship vacations and together with Barry and friends, visited much of the Americas, Caribbean, and Europe.  She actively participated with Barry in the classic automotive scene and was very proud of her 68’ Mustang Convertible.  She loved color whether it be clothes or flowers, grazing deer and hummingbirds, and spending her winters in Florida.  She loved the lord and accepted the end of her journey.

The family would like to express their thanks to the many doctors and caregivers, including Michiana Hematology Oncology, Unity Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Beacon Health System, and The Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

Visitation for Marsha will be held from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. South Bend.  Visitation will also be held from 10am-11am on Thursday May 1, 2025, at the funeral home.  A funeral service will begin at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marsha’s name to the Center for Hospice, Mishawaka, IN or to the LAM Foundation (LAMfoundation.org).

Online condolences to the family may be sent via the Palmer Funeral Homes website at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
