In Memory
Mary Jane (Merrill) Andrews
February 21, 1946 ~ February 28, 2025
Mary Andrews, passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 79 in Elkhart. Born on February 21, 1946, in South Bend, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Loretta (Cyr) Merrill.
On June 19, 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Lynne Bruce Andrews, at Christ the King Catholic Church, a union that was blessed with love, laughter, and the gift of family until Lynn's passing in 2017. Together, they built a home filled with love and open arms. Mary's legacy is carried on through her devoted daughter, Elizabeth (Steven) Dennis of Granger, and her loving sons, Jeffrey Andrews and Stephen (Jamie) Andrews, both of South Bend.
Mary's life was further enriched by the joy of her seven grandchildren, Ashley Biggs, Dylan Andrews, Alexis Dennis, Samantha Andrews, Elliot Andrews, Skyler Andrews, and Jessica Dennis. She reveled in their accomplishments and milestones, each moment adding a stitch to the family quilt. The birth of her three great-grandchildren, Zach, Zoey, and Max Biggs, brought additional light and laughter into her later years, and she cherished every second spent with these precious new lives. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim.
A homemaker in the truest sense, Mary created a warm and inviting home where all were welcome. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and simple pleasures like gardening, and cooking. Mary's interests were a reflection of her multifaceted personality; she enjoyed the suspense of crime shows, the rugged landscapes of westerns, and the intellectual challenge of crossword puzzles. An avid reader, she traveled through stories and enjoyed the places her books would take her.
Mary's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends. She was a woman of quiet strength, unwavering in her support and generous with her love. Her laughter, wisdom, and the comforting presence she provided will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
