Lakesha Montrell “LaLa” Tyler, 43, of Liston Street, South Bend, Indiana passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at her residence. Lakesha was born June 13, 1978, in South Bend, Indiana to Derrick Tyler Sr. and Evelyn Chapman.

Lakesha graduated from Clay High School in 1996. She worked in Food & Nutrition for 19 years at Washington High School. She was a member of Living Waters COGIC for 12 years where she served on the hospitality team. She loved her grandchildren and family. She loved the Washington High School students and she loved going to the school wrestling matches. Her favorite breakfast restaurant was Yellow Cat Cafe and she also favored Hacienda. She loved music and she loved to dance.

Lakesha was preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Chapman and aunt Diane Chapman.

Lakesha is survived by her father, Derrick Tyler Sr. of Dallas, Texas; two daughters: Shayquan Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana and Shakeya Tyler; three sons: Trayshawn Jones and Terry Murphy Jr. of South Bend, Indiana, Tondrew Tyler of Kansas City, Kansas; one grandchild, My’Anna Murphy; one sister, Breanna Tyler; and one brother, Derrick Tyler Jr. both of Dallas, Texas; her other sister/best friend is Betrice Roberts; Godparents Barry and Clara Perry all of South Bend, Indiana and other friends and relatives.
