Janine Suzanne King (Newcomer)
Janine Suzanne Newcomer passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Mishawaka, IN, at the age of 63. Born on May 24, 1961, in South Bend, IN, to the late James and Marian (Krueger) King, Janine's life was a testament to the joy and beauty that can be found in the simple pleasures of life.
Janine's journey through life was shared with her devoted husband, Phillip Newcomer, with whom she built a legacy of love and laughter. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Travis (Nicole) Newcomer of South Bend, IN, and James (Amanda) Newcomer of Roachdale, IN. Her role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she instilled in her sons the values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family.
A beloved sister, Janine is survived by Kathy (Craig) Taylor of Granger, IN, and Fran (Art) Anderson of South Bend, IN. Her sisters will fondly remember her for her warmth, her infectious smile, and the countless memories they created together.
Janine's joy multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild. She was the proud grandmother to Tiffany, Trever, Kingston, Zoie, Landon, and Charlee. Each of them brought immense happiness to her life, and she loved nothing more than spending time with them, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
An avid painter, Janine found solace and joy in the strokes of her brush, capturing the beauty of the world as she saw it. Her love for fishing was more than a hobby; it was a way for her to connect with nature and enjoy the serenity of the outdoors. Wildwood Campground held a special place in her heart as a frequent family retreat where laughter echoed and bonds were strengthened.
Janine's life was a beautiful portrait of love, dedication, and the enduring strength of family ties. Her presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. Janine's family takes comfort in knowing that she lived her life to the fullest, surrounded by the people she loved, doing the things she enjoyed most.
Funeral Services for Janine will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 at 1:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel 17033 Cleveland Rd. South Bend, IN 46635. Friends may visit with family from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
