Terry M Tharp - Class Of 1963

Terry M. Tharp, 76, of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021. He was born in South Bend on May 17, 1944, the son of (the late) Milton S. and Florence (Busch) Tharp. Terry graduated from Washington Clay High School with the Class of ‘63 and was a lifetime South Bend resident. Terry had retired as a terminal operator and in maintenance from Amoco Oil (BP Oil) in Granger, after 29 years with the company. Terry is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Ferris) Tharp; daughter, Diana Tharp; sons, Gary Tharp and Tom Tharp, all of South Bend; stepdaughter, Michelle (Rick) Wireman of Trego WI; stepsons, Brad (Shannon) Rutkowski, Kevin (Carie) Rutkowski, and Eric (Gwen) Rutkowski, all of South Bend; grandchildren, Cody, Kayla, Cole, Chase, and Carli Tharp, all of South Bend; step-grandchildren, Tyler, Bailey, Alyssa, Sydney, Ryleigh, Cheyanne, Payton, and Rhiannon Rutkowski, all of South Bend, Harley (Joe) Medina of Walkerton, Levi (Hannah) Wireman of Laporte, Travis and Denim Wireman of Trego, WI, Ricky Wireman, Kaytelynn (James) Randolph, Jamie Klodzinski, Branden and Kendrick Pratt, all of South Bend and Lea (Sean) Overmen of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Corbin and Jaxton Tharp, both of South Bend; step-great-grandchildren, Wiet and Emory Medina of Walkerton, Sophia Randolph, Eden Wireman and Kennedy & Zoey Klodzinski, all of South Bend and Eckel, Tamry, Landon & Zaid Wireman, all of Shelbyville; sister, Charlotte (Robert) O'Dell of Granger; niece, Michele (Steve) Oakley of Indianapolis; nephew, Michael (Amy) O'Dell of Granger; sister-in-law, Jean Kinyon of South Bend and brothers-in-law, Frank Ferris & Ronald (Rose) Ferris, both of South Bend. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Wayne Tharp; mother & father-in-law, Irene & Frank Ferris; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ferris and Joan (Albert) Borsch; and brother-in-law, Dick Kinyon. Funeral Services 2:00 Monday, January 18, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Visitation Monday is from 1-2pm in the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date.
