Pamela Marie McKeough

Pamela M. McKeough
June 23, 1951 - Jan. 23, 2021
INDIANAPOLIS, IN -

Pamela Marie “Pam” McKeough, 69, passed away on Jan. 23, 2021 at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. Pam was born in St. Joseph County, IN on June 23, 1951, daughter of the late James B. and Vera (Hoff) McKeough.

Pam graduated from Clay High School, South Bend, IN, in 1969, then attended Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, graduating in 1973. After college, Pam worked for Indiana University Research and Sponsored Programs for over 47 years. She held a variety of positions during these years and became Director, Sponsored Program Administration and Assistant to the Dean. Pam was most happy when working and enjoyed the many close friends she made over many years.

Pam's faith was a very important part of her life. She grew up attending Little Flower Catholic Church, South Bend, IN, as well as her mother's church, Maple Lane United Methodist Church, South Bend, IN. In Indianapolis, Pam was a member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church.

Surviving Pam is her brother, Michael J. McKeough and his wife, Patti Alden of Granger, IN; niece, Hayley Moore and her husband, Coley Moore of Indianapolis, IN; and great-nephews, Dempsey Moore and Decker Moore (due in March 2021), as well as numerous cousins.

Pam's extended family included many close, lifelong friends: Heidi Girman, Kyle Gustin, Peggy and Milt Brehmer, Jim and Barb Flynn, Sharon and Dave Rippe, and Marge Berry; her boss, Jim Becker, IU; and Steve Martin, IU; and her former boss, Dr. Wendell McBurney.

Pam loved her family, friendships shared, and all animals, especially her dog, Tinker. She was always a gentle, positive person and would not want us to grieve. She has found peace and is now free to be with God.

There will be no visitation. Pam will be put to rest at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. The family prefers that you not make a memorial contribution but rather share Pam's memory by supporting your own family members and/or friends who may need help at this time.
