Dona M. Hertel

GRANGER - Dona M. Hertel, 70, of Adams Road, Granger, Ind., passed away following an illness at 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, in her residence.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1928, to Carl and Laura Holderman in South Bend, Ind., who preceded her in death. On Feb. 1, 1948, as Dona M. Holderman, she married Dale E. Hertel in Mishawaka. He also preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 1996.
She is survived by her sons, Larry D. Hertel and James E. Hertel, both of Granger, and Gary Hertel of New Palestine, Ind.; her mother, Laura Yohn of Granger; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and by a brother, Lynn Carl Holderman of Vandalia, Ohio.
Mrs. Hertel retired from the Indiana Toll Road as a clerical worker in 1991 after 23 years. She was a member of the Granger Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services for Mrs. Hertel will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28th, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. There will be no visitation.
The Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Hospice.
