Edna Mae Grant

NILES - Edna Mae (Holderman) Grant, 88, of Niles, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles.
She was born on May 13, 1928, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Edwin R. and Jewel F. (Harney) Holderman.
Edna graduated from Washington-Clay High School in Roseland, Indiana. On August 29, 1953, she married Robert J. Grant at a ceremony in South Bend. Edna was an executive secretary for National Standard for over twelve years and at the Notre Dame Physics Department for seven years. She was a member of the Buchanan Moose Lodge and enjoyed reading, bowling and watching NASCAR and golf. Edna rededicated her life to The Lord this past year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her three children, Wayne, Dale and Keith Grant; and siblings, Erma Potts, Esther Borsheim, Avis Chambers and Eva Rahn.
Edna is survived by a niece, Barbara Ackerman of Niles; her siblings, Louis (Carol) Holderman of Highland, Indiana, Elaine Bonar of Mishawaka, and Kenneth (Judy) Holderman of Granger, Indiana; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., with a time of visitation one hour prior. Mrs. Grant will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of her three sons to The Muscular Dystrophy Association .
