SOUTH BEND - Kathleen Mary Ostertag, 53 years old, Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, passed on May 25, 1998, in Memorial Hospital following a stroke. Born March 26, 1945, to Chester and Mary Bombrys of South Bend.
A graduate of Clay High School 1963, she married Albert Bruce Ostertag October 29, 1963, and remarried in Christ the King Rectory on November 30, 1963.
She was preceded in death by her father Chester, her sister Geri Foltz of Florida, and a nephew, Roger Allen Golden. She is survived by her loving husband Bruce Ostertag; her sons, Albert Todd Ostertag of Oregon and Albert Kurt Ostertag of South Bend; two grandchildren, Katti Mari Ostertag and Justan Albert Ostertag; a sister, Mimi (Bombrys) Dark (Ray), and her mother, Mary Bombrys, both of New Carlisle; a nephew, Scott Foltz of Florida; nephews, Colin and Claton Dark of New Carlisle and Casey Bollinger of Detroit; sister-in-law, Alberta (Ostertag) Bob Bowker of Spring City, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Tammy (Ostertag) Ron Massey of Bartlett, Ill.; nieces, Tammy of Atlanta, Georgia, Sally and Angie of Tennessee, Michell of Bartlett, Illinois, Christy of Germany, Luann and Mike Gurbick and Melissa Frary, who all loved her very much and will miss her tenderness.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 1998, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of service on Saturday in the funeral home.
