To be absent from the body is to be present in the Lord. Steven Earl Lott, Jr., 53, of South Bend, Indiana transitioned peacefully on July 9, 2024.

He was born September 19, 1970, to Cordelia (Rodgers) Anderson and Steven Earl Lott.  Steve graduated from Clay High School in 1989. Steve proudly worked for Logan Industries for many years. Steve competed in the Special Olympics weightlifting, basketball and track; he also had the honor of competing in the International Special Olympics in 1987 where he excelled in weightlifting.

Steve was a proud man and very fashionable! Nothing ever held Steve back from living his best life. He never complained and was always ready to celebrate with his family and friends. Steve especially enjoyed traveling with his sister and mother to places like the Bahamas, Mexico, New Orleans, Mackinaw Island, Miami, Memphis, Gatlinburg, just to name a few. From cruises on the love boat to visits to his favorite places, especially Southfork Ranch in Dallas, Texas, Steve was always the life of the party. Steve loved to dance and was a music enthusiast. Some of his favorite artists include Prince, Keith Sweat, Kiss, and Michael Jackson. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys, painting, wrestling and watching his favorite shows Dallas and Love Boat

Steve will be remembered as a bright and kindhearted individual who made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His memory will be cherished forever by those who have had the privilege of knowing him. Steve is survived by his loving mother Cordelia (Rodgers) Anderson, his sister and best friend whom he adored Aslisia L. Rodgers, his father Steven E. Lott, his maternal aunts Elizabeth A. Ward, Darlene Farmer and Cynthia (Greg) Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana.

Steve also leaves behind to cherish his many fond memories, numerous cousins and his very special brother Melvin Bridges, South Bend, Indiana. Steve is preceded in death by his brother Jonathon Rodgers, his maternal grandparents Gloster and Myrine Harris, his maternal uncle Richard L. Rodgers, his maternal aunt Delores Wells, his first cousins Anthony L. Carter and Lorenzo Joel Walker and his father figure James Coleman, Jr.

Funeral Services Entrusted to: Palmer Funeral Home, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, In 46628 Services: Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. Visitation: 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, 2300 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana
