Mark Andrew Bennett

October 10, 1969 ~ October 3, 2022 (age 52)

Mark Andrew Bennett, 52, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at his home on Monday, October 3, 2022. Mark was born on October 10, 1969, in South Bend, to Leland D. “Lee” and Marsha N. (Holland) Bennett. 

Mark was a member of Journey Church in Granger for 20+ years, where he served as a greeter. He enjoyed greeting people in the morning, talking with everyone, and welcoming all that came in. He was a faithful servant to God and had a very close relationship with him. He would often share his conversations with God with his friends and family, and he spoke in truth to everyone he encountered, about how great God is.

Mark was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He spent years collecting memorabilia that was his pride and joy. He loved Notre Dame hockey. Some of his favorite times were attending hockey games ringing his cow bell, being as loud as he could be yelling at the opposing team! If you ever attended a game with him, you were in for a real treat! Mark spent his extra time working on nutcrackers that he custom painted and decorated for friends and family during the holidays. He was so talented that he began to receive requests for special orders for purchase. Mark loved all genres of music, but his favorite was Christian rock—Stryper being his #1 favorite. He loved his family more than anything, especially hanging out with his sister and brother-in-law around a bonfire, listening to music.

Mark is survived by his mother, Marsha Bennett of South Bend, IN; sister, Michele (Eddie) Grudzinski of Osceola, IN; nieces/nephews, Christian Hunt, Brandon (Brittany) Hunt, Corey (Ashley) Grudzinski, Mark (Brooke) Grudzinski, Tesla Grudzinski, and Stormy Grudzinski; great-nieces/nephews, Ellianna Hunt, Ezrianna Hunt, Emberlyn Hunt, Derek Grudzinski, Levi Grudzinski, Wesson Grudzinski, Wyatt Grudzinski, and Jesse Grudzinski; as well as a number of aunts and uncles. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Leland Bennett. 

Mark’s wishes were to be cremated. The family will have a memorial service this Friday, October 7, 2022 from 5:00-8:00pm at Journey Church, 12100 State Road 23, Granger, IN 46530. (Food will be provided). Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
