Timothy Sean Conyers

Timothy Sean Conyers

Tim was born on January 3, 1969 in Portsmouth, VA and passed away on March 11, 2022 in Gainesville, Florida at the age of 53. In his youth he attended Lake Park Elementary School, FL; Blue Ridge School, Cashiers, NC; Camp for the Gifted and Talented at Western Carolina University; Physics Summer Program, IU Terre Haute; and Clay High School, South Bend where he was a member of the track team. He graduated from Indiana University. Over the years he worked at Ristance (Mishawaka), Jones Edmunds (Gainesville, FL), and was Database Manager for Alachua County, FL. Born the year of the moon walk, Tim enjoyed NASA and all things related to space. He had been a member of the local Star Trek fan group (USS Valhalla) and attended NASA Adult Space Camp.

Tim and his beloved wife Lorena Haldeman lived in Keystone Heights, FL and shared many devoted friends who were a great support during Tim’s illness. Lorena adds, “Tim was legendary with his people for his unshakable love of many things: taking care of everything in the background while others were taking center stage... fixing things... solving problems... solving puzzles... cooking amazing food from scratch for anyone and everyone, be it his sister who just had a baby or forty people at Friendsgiving... endlessly throwing ropes for his three-legged dog, Lindy... and being quiet until he came up with That One Pun that made everyone choke laughing. He leaves behind a stunned and grieving family.”

In addition to his wife Lorena, Tim’s family includes his parents William J. and Linda L. Conyers; his brother Bill Conyers, Jr. (Leslie), his sisters Colette Catherine (William Holper), Jennifer Diane (John Hayden), and Amy Lynn (Isaac Kotrola); his nieces and nephews Ethan and Jackson Holper, Owen and Avery (Ronny) Conyers, and Keller and Lydia Kotrola; his aunts and uncles Rev. Richard Conyers, CSC, Carolyn and Ron Dunmore, Colette and Joe Chambers, Janet and George Johannsen, Michael and Diane Sherwood; and many loving cousins.

Services in South Bend and Florida will be announced at a later date.
