Peter Delmar John Thomas Robinson passed away on April 1, 2024, in his hometown of South Bend, IN, at the age of 55. Born on August 14, 1968, in South Bend, Peter’s life was a testament to the values of knowledge, strength, family dedication, and his love for the great outdoors.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Malinda Sue Robinson, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring marriage for over 26 years. He was a devoted son to his mother, Majorie Robinson, a caring brother to Christopher Robinson, and a son-in-law to Susan VanDerBeek and a brother-in-law to David (Jennifer) VanDerBeek. His legacy will live on through his darling daughters, Kaylee Marie (Keenen) Boyce and Cassie Elizabeth Robinson, who will forever cherish the memories, lessons, and wisdom he imparted.
A proud graduate of the 1987 class of Clay High School, he furthered his education to acquire a Journeyman Carpenter License and an Associate Degree in Science Engineering. With over 20 years at Johnstone Supply on Rosetta Drive, he was esteemed for his dependable nature and exceptional work ethic.
Peter’s passion for the outdoors was undeniable. He was an avid fisherman, and finding joy in fishing with his daughters was the highlight of his time. With the mindset that “there is no such thing as too much knowledge,” He was a passionate History Enthusiast. He often engaged in conversations about historical events or family history. During his pastime, he continued his education by watching YouTube videos, researching, or reading. His favorite book of all time was the Holy Bible, which he read from front to back. Above all, Peter had unconditional love for his family. He took every opportunity to spend quality time with them, between being a goofball, sharing his wisdom, traveling, and never shying away from adventures.
Along with his loving wife, Malinda, Peter is survived by his daughters, Kaylee Marie (Keenen) Boyce and Cassie Elizabeth Robinson; Mother, Majorie Robinson; Brother, Christopher Robinson; Mother-In-Law, Susan VanDerBeek; Brother-In-Law, David (Jennifer) VanDerBeek. Peter is also survived by several cousins. Peter is preceded in death by his grandparents, his Father, Delmar Robinson, his father-in-law, Bruce VanDerBeek, and a host of uncles and aunts.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2024, at New Apostolic Church, 5602 Ironwood Dr, South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am until the time of service. A private family burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
