SOUTH BEND - H. Krege Fahler, 63, died Saturday afternoon with his family by his side. He was born March 8, 1948, in South Bend, to the late Merl and Bethya (Krege) Fahler.

On June 19, 1971, he married Phyllis Hoyt, who survives along with daughters, Tami Fahler (Jim) of Granger, Toni Mize (Dave) of Niles and Terri Hiland (Jim) of Jones, MI. One son, Art Hoyt III (Gail) of Shipshewana, IN; 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nanette Collins (Nigel) of Joliet, IL, and Suzette Dine (Jeff) of Indianapolis; and a brother, Keith Fahler (Susan) of N. Liberty. Krege retired after 40 years from E.J. White Heating and Plumbing.

He was a graduate of Clay High School and received his journeymen card and was a member of Local 172 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He was a former member of South Bend Moose #58.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, and entombment will be at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home, and one hour prior to the funeral Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children. E-mail condolences may be sent to www.welsheimer.com.
