DOWAGIAC - Leonard T. Bogue, 84, of Dowagiac, Michigan, formerly of
South Bend, passed away Thursday afternoon in Memorial Hospital. He
was born June 21, 1924, to the late Leonard Edward and Lillie May
(Yetter) Bogue. Also preceding him in death were his sister, Betty M.
Mixtacki; and brothers, Edward and Robert Bogue. On August 26,
1949, in South Bend, he married the former Jean I. Keyworth, and was
married for 58 years. Also surviving are daughters, Debra I. Hiler of
Marcellus, MI, and Leslie A. Vargo (Joseph) of Dowagiac, MI; sons, Michael T. Bogue
(Carol) of Dowagiac, MI, and Scott Henry Bogue, and companion, Cary Albert of Lapaz,
IN; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leonard graduated from the
former Washington-Clay high school and attended Indiana University, Bloomington. He
was a veteran of the Army Air Force and was discharged in 1945. He was a member of
the American Turners, American Legion and the Triple "R" riding club. Leonard was a
retired auto salesperson for over 30 years and retired from Tyler Chevrolet in Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 3rd, in the Welsheimer
Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, and burial will follow at St. Joseph
Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
