NILES Thomas Williamson, 62, of Niles, passed away in his home on Sunday, November 29, 2009, after a short illness with his family by his side.

Tom was born on December 11, 1946, to the late Elmer and Angela (Springer) Williamson. Tom was the eldest of four children in the Williamson household.

After graduating from Clay High School, Tom attended Indiana University South Bend. After one year at IUSB, Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four years. Tom owned Tom's Portage Marathon in South Bend for 14 years. After he closed the station he went to work as a mechanic and spent much of his free time fishing and being a photographer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tom is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Rosemary; siblings, Paulette (Jim) Snyder of South Bend, Indiana, Bryan Williamson of Buchanan, Michigan, David (Sue) Williamson of Osceola, Indiana; niece, Courtney Snyder of South Bend, and nephew, Zachary Snyder of South Bend.

In keeping with Tom's wishes, he has been cremated and a memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009, in Brown Funeral Home to honor Tom's memory from 4-6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom's memory to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
