Francis E. Leininger

WAKARUSA Francis E. Leininger, 85, Wakarusa, formerly of Mishawaka, and Canton, Ohio, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Millers Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
He was born Feb. 4, 1931, in Mishawaka to Earl and Margaret (Graf) Leininger.
He married Josephine (Sailor) Leininger and she died Dec. 17, 2008.
Surviving are stepsons, Robert Leonard of Massillon, Ohio and Dale Leonard of Canal Fulton, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Josephine, brothers, Maclynn, Adolph, William, Robert and Richard Leininger and a stepdaughter, Mary Jo Leonard.
Francis served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was supervisor of the shipping and warehouse departments of the Canton Plant of Ekco Housewares. He was a great musician. Francis was very much loved at Millers Assisted Living where he played the piano for the other residents. He attended the Bible Baptist Church and was former president of the Eagles 2370.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 14, with the service following at 3 p.m., all at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 117 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa. Pastor David Harper of the Bible Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 15 at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens, Canton, Ohio.
Memorials may be directed to the Bible Baptist Church.
