Carolynn Ruth Yost

SOUTH BEND - Carolynn Ruth (Squint) Yost, 74, a longtime resident of Green Valley Lake, CA, passed away on February 6, 2008, following a brief illness.
Born in South Bend on September 24, 1933, to Leo and Ruth Squint, Carolynn graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1950.
In 1953 she married George W. Yost and together they enjoyed 52 wedding anniversaries. Along the way, Carolynn gave birth to three sons. 1963 found the family moving west to Glendora, CA, where they remained for 15 years. During this time, Carolynn began her career with the City of Hope as a special services coordinator, where she continued to work in various capacities for nearly 30 years. With their children grown, George and Carolynn relocated to the peace and serenity of Green Valley Lake, CA, where Carolynn enjoyed her surroundings by feeding birds, squirrels and other local wildlife.
Preceded in death by husband George, Carolynn is survived by her three sons, George Yost of Green Valley Lake, CA, Gary Yost of Chino, CA, and Gregg Yost of Covina, CA; two grandchildren, Sherry Yost and Cathy Yost, both of Glendora, CA; and her brother, L. Dale Squint (Belinda) of Laredo, TX.
A memorial open house will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in the home of Gary Yost, 13656 Saratoga, Place, Chino, CA 91710, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the City of Hope - donations, 1500 E. Duarte Road, Duarte, CA 91010.
