Leon F. Wiggins

SOUTH BEND – Leon F. Wiggins, 95, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Leon was born May 19, 1926 in South Bend, In to the late Harry and Ruth (Matthews) Wiggins. He was preceded in death by his brother Noel Wiggins. Leon's brother Adrian Wiggins survives him.
On July 5, 1945 Leon married the love of his life, Billie Jean Scott who preceded him in death on June 11, 2015. They had four children together; Jonnie Lou Wiggins, Leslie Jo Cowles, Dr. Rick Alan Wiggins and Jack Dale Wiggins. Their family was then extended with 6 wonderful grandchildren.
Leon was a United States Army Veteran and served in WWII where he received the Victory Medal and Honorable Discharge. Returning, Leon was an Automotive body repairman and worked in the auto body shops.
There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 23449 Edison Road South Bend, IN 46628.
Palmer Funeral Homes – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Leon's name to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County 2506 Grape Rd, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
