Josephine B. “Jo” Munger, 74 of South Bend, died at 6:55 am, Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Wellbrooke Health Center from complications caused by ALS, which was diagnosed in May.
Jo was born on April 3, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Ralph and Edith (Clamer) Kepler. In 1962, she married Jerry Munger of South Bend. They were married 33 years and he preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by two sons, Daniel Munger of South Bend and David Munger of Mt. Prospect, IL. Jo was diagnosed with Lupus in 1970 and learned to successfully cope with the disease. She was a member of Christ’s Church in Michiana and loved her “family” of friends there.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 8, 2014 in the funeral home with Rev. Randy Nemitz to officiate. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the ALS Association. Donations may be made at www.alsa.org.
