ANTIOCH Albert J. Kollar, 70, of Antioch, IL, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, on November 2, 1938, he is survived by his beloved wife, Vera; sisters, Dorothy (Jack) Gemmer, Idabelle (Don) Haughee, Joann (Bill) Duncan, Marilyn (Paul) Potts; daughter, Alisa (Ben) Martorano; and granddaughters, Gihanna and Annalisa. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Bret (Arda) Bowles, Waukegan, IL, Melanie Bowles, Machesney Park, IL, Scot (Jessica) Albers, Beach Park, IL; and step-grandchildren, Unique, Brooklyn, Teegan, Andre and Kailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Steve Kollar, South Bend, IN; sister, Betty; brother, Robert; and by first wife, Janice.

A celebration of his life will be private in Antioch, IL.

In lieu of flowers, Albert requested that donations be made to the American Boxer Charitable Foundation, P.O. Box 8667, Spokane, WA 99203.
