A funeral for Robert Lewis Sherland of Mountain Home will be at 10 am Tuesday at First Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Alexander officiating. Robert Lewis Sherland died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 69.

He was born June 7, 1932, at South Bend, Ind., to Oscar and Janice Sherland. He married Patsy Lee McLain on Dec. 23, 1977, at Mountain Home. He was an employee of Baxter Healthcare. Mr. Sherland was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Mountain Home since moving here from Conway in 1977. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ozark Post 3246, Korean War Veterans, and First Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of Mountain Home; a son, Henry McLain and wife, Kay, of Greeley, Colo.; daughters, Joann Quick and husband, Richard, of Rockwall, Texas; Gwenda Dickson of Bossier City, La., Nancy Dawson, Penny McLain, and Tammy McLain of Little Rock, and Janice Sherland of Quinlan, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Hostetler and husband, Carl, of Midway.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9am -8pm, with the family receiving friends from 4 - 8 pm Monday at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Calico Rock with military honors by North Central Arkansas Veterans Council and honor guard by VFW Ozark Post 3246. His grandson will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the church building fund or Hospice of the Ozarks

NOTE: Janice Sternaman Ziegelmaier's obit names Robert Sherland as a son.
